Rear Gear was designed specifically for the way figure skaters move.
• Lightweight construction
• Tapered edges for a smooth, low-profile fit
• Adjustable placement inside your leggings or tights
• Modular protection that can be customized for different training days
• Washable fabric sleeves and reusable foam inserts
The goal isn’t to wear more padding—it’s to wear only what you need.
-
Figure skaters need freedom.
Rear Gear slides directly into your favorite leggings or tights, so there’s no bulky second layer, no side zippers, and no oversized silhouette.
The pads can also be repositioned or removed in seconds during practice without changing clothes.
-
The cotton-spandex sleeves create gentle friction against your skating clothes, helping the pads stay where you place them.
Every skater’s anatomy is different, so Rear Gear was intentionally designed to let you position the pads exactly where they work best for you.
-
Rear Gear was designed to be low profile.
The tapered edges help the pads blend naturally under skating clothes, while the lightweight design reduces bulk compared to many traditional padded shorts.
Depending on body shape, they may be slightly visible, but a significant upgrade to the diaper shorts your coaches hate.

Every complete system includes:
• Two hip pads
• Two booster pads
• One tailbone pad
Use only the hip pads for everyday training, add boosters for higher-impact sessions, or include the tailbone pad when working on new skills.
Your protection should adapt to your training.
If you lose any part or want to double up, feel free to purchase single inserts or more covers as needed.

(For the mom’s and dad’s - we thought about you too!)
For when things get sweaty and stinky…
Simply remove the foam inserts, machine wash the covers, wipe down the foam, and you’re ready for your next session.
Everything stores inside the included cotton laundry bag, making it easy to keep your pad covers, gloves, and skating socks together through laundry day.

Walk into almost any rink and you’ll see a sea of black jackets, black leggings, and black gloves.
Rear Gear brings a little personality back to practice.
In that sea of black, who know’s whose gear is whose these days? The exciting colors are part of knowing whose rear gear belongs to whom.
The colorful covers also make it easy to spot your pads on the boards, in your skate bag, or after laundry day.

Every Rear Gear System is designed and handmade by a skater, for skaters.
Each system is cut, sewn, and assembled by hand right now until we grow big enough to outsource. Small variations are part of what make every system unique and a reflection of the care that goes into each one.
While we get started, enjoy the imperfections and little errors that let you know love went into creating your product in this machine world.
